Alcmaria Flames (The Netherlands) pay a visit U18

Sunday 23rd April Kosner CHH’s U18 team played an (international!) friendly match against the Alcmaria Flames from The Netherlands. Our player Pablo Puertas spent the season up there, playing for this team, and they have come to visit the region and play two games, one in Donosti against Txuri, and another one in Huarte.

We had the whole team for the event, including Diego Torrijos, who not only saved our goal this season, but even made 800 km (together with his parents) and half game this Sunday. Half game because our Zaira Aragonés substituted him from minute 35.

The game was fun to watch, because although the Dutch team was better than ours, the gap was no so big that we couldn’t play, defense and offense, and all in all we were fine and did not suffer in excess (the score, 5-1, could have been different, we had our chances). Even two U15 boys had their minutes, promising for next season.

Goals by Maxime Gegéniau, Ramses van Brunschot, Mats Messer (2) and Cyrus van Brunschot for the away team made Juan Pablo San Nicolás’ fast-break 4-1 insufficient in the end. As a farewell party, a penalty shot shootout just for fun. Even his goalie, Emil Klemetsö, shot one.

Superb final show for the team, who fought in a hard season due to the short rooster and the differences with respect to some of the teams in our league.
